498 Invalid Token

HTTP response 498 Invalid Token is an unofficial client error that is specific to ArcGIS and indicates that the HTTP request included a token but it was not accepted.

When the 498 Invalid Token status code is received, the client included a required token in the HTTP request but the token was not accepted by the server. To solve this error, the client needs to resubmit the HTTP request with a valid token.


Search engines like Google will not index a URL with 498 Invalid Token response status, and consequently, URLs that have been indexed in the past but are now returning this HTTP status code will be removed from the search results.


The 498 Invalid Token status code is a client error that is sent by the server when the client submits a HTTP request that does not include a valid token.
